So I like to experiment with cooking on occasion and about two years ago I made a chicken dish that I threw together using teriyaki and caribbean jerk spice along with some lemon juice and other spices. I called it, teriyjerk chicken. It was a hit with everyone that tried it.
Sunday, I went grocery shopping with my mom and saw sesame oil. I grabbed it and some sesame seeds. She asked me what that was for and I said...In case I want to try to make sesame chicken. Now, last night my mom asks if I could make it for today. I've never made a sauce/glaze ever from scratch so I had to do some R&D...Earlier today I experimented with trying to make it. First try ended up turning into a sesame caramel when it cooled down. Second try I got a sauce that worked out, but it was only for a test. So tonight I had to basically double the amount with no measurements from earlier.
Anyway, the sauce turned out great, the chicken was breaded and fried. The sides were tasty jasmine rice and edamame.
Here are two platings I tried right when it was all done cooking.
